During the month of April, National Poetry Month, Word As Bond, Inc. is asking you to join us in raising $10,000 to bring people together through the power of words! We live in a society where people are marginalized, bullied, or even killed based on implicit bias. Word seeks to lessen these biases by bringing people, especially young people, from different walks of life together to share their stories.
Word is committed to inclusivity and provides all of its youth programs completely free of charge. We believe, by providing free, high-quality, professionally-facilitated creative workshops and performance opportunities in great venues all over our metro area, we lessen the impact of the socioeconomic differences between our students and the stereotypes about different parts of our community. We also provide opportunities for our youth participants to travel to share their talents and learn from young people outside of our metro area, and, this July, our students have been invited to Houston, TX to participate in Word’s fifth Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Festival!
In order for all of this happen at no cost to our youth, we need your support!
Can you donate $20 to Word As Bond today?
There are two easy ways to donate:
Using our secure website or PayPal at http://www.wordasbond.org/support-word
Or, by sending a check or money order to “Word As Bond, Inc.” at
PO Box 55034
Indianapolis, IN 46205
Can’t sacrifice $20 or want to give more? No amount is too great or too small. And, every tax-deductible donation will go directly toward bringing people together through the power of words!
We hope that you still see the value of our programs for students like Jillian, who said our workshops give her the opportunity to “learn about different kinds of poetry and different backgrounds from so many diverse people.”
